England 1012

Hello:

Sorry for the delay there hasn't been much action on this site so I kinda gave up. Yes I am well aware of the TV series Vikings. I have fell behind for a couple reason. But I hope that my story will speak to those who cheered for Lagertha! I am pitching my MS in Nov so we will see! Thanks for the interest.
Melissa, I know you must already be aware (and probably a fan) of the series Vikings. Lagertha is the reason I stayed with the series; a fierce warrior, a Jarl, and very much a woman. My hero!
Hello:

No she is a fictional character. There is so little written about the Danes during this time other than they were savages that raped and pillages their way through England. Being that most of the history (that I found) was pulled from Christian based writing- which does not give an unbiased look at history, but that is what is history is right some's version of what happened.

I was really worried that people wouldn't believe that a woman could be a warrior/ jarl. But so far the only thing that was ever called into question was her name.

Who are you thinking about writing about?

I look foward to 'talking' with you more.
Hi Melissa!

A female warlord, sounds intriguing? Does she have basis in any history, or is this an extrapolation? I am particularly fond of doing the latter, just so you know :)

Have you already attempted the process of tagline, elevator pitch and synopsis before?
Hello:
My current WIP is set in England in 1012, right before Sweyn Forkbread becomes the first Danish King of England. My story revolves about a female Danish (Viking) warlord and her struggle in a male dominated world.

And in case you were wondering, yes I struggle with the whole tagline, elevator pitch, synopsis thing... I would rather write a how to manual on brushing a cat than a query!
